History
Where it began
Nueva Andalucía was conceived in the late 1960s by developer José Banús as a garden city behind his new marina. The golf courses designed by Robert Trent Jones gave the valley its identity, and through the 1980s and 90s it grew into one of Marbella's most popular residential districts.
Future
Where it is heading
Many of the original villas are being rebuilt into modern turnkey homes, raising prices street by street. With the long-awaited improvements to the A-7 and new boutique developments around the golf courses, Nueva Andalucía is one of the most active renovation markets on the coast.
