History
Where it began
Estepona grew from a small Andalusian fishing town, its old town laid out in the narrow Moorish streets still visible today. Long overshadowed by its glamorous neighbours, it stayed authentically Spanish while the coast boomed around it — and from the 2000s the New Golden Mile began attracting the international buyers who now shape its westward growth.
Future
Where it is heading
Estepona is the Costa del Sol's fastest-growing municipality, with major marina regeneration plans, new beachfront promenades and a wave of contemporary developments along the New Golden Mile. As Marbella's prime supply runs out, buyers seeking space and value are moving here — and prices are following.
