History

Where it began

In the 1950s Prince Alfonso von Hohenlohe opened the Marbella Club Hotel and invited Europe's jet set. Royals, film stars and industrialists followed, building villas along the coast road and giving the stretch its nickname — the Golden Mile.

Future

Where it is heading

The planned underground route of the coastal road and continued upgrades to the beachfront promenade will make the area even more walkable. New branded residences confirm the Golden Mile's place among the best addresses in Europe.
