About Marbella East
East of Marbella town the coast broadens into pine forests, wide sandy beaches and low-rise residential estates. Elviria is the natural centre of the area, with its village of shops and restaurants, while Cabopino holds the last protected dune system on the coast.
Marbella East suits buyers who want sea views, garden plots and golf within a few minutes — without the density of the Golden Mile. Homes range from apartments a short walk from the beach to contemporary villas above Río Real and Santa María Golf.
- Wide sandy beaches and protected dunes

History
Where it began
For centuries this was farmland and fishing ground east of the walled town — the Los Monteros estate took its name from the hill that crowned it. Marbella's first golf course opened here in the 1970s, when Marbella Country Club and Río Real brought the first international residents, and Elviria grew around them as the coast's family neighbourhood.
Future
Where it is heading
Five-star hotel openings in Los Monteros and continuing beachfront regeneration keep pulling attention east, while strict building lines keep the area low-rise. Buyers who priced out of the Golden Mile increasingly look here for the same sea views at a lower entry point.
